(More customer reviews)I bought this grill 2 years ago to replace a $300.00 CharBroil gas grill that burned out in 2 years time.The Napolean dealers very greatly in price so shop around and wait for a holiday or end of season sale.I drove 70 miles to get mine but saved $400 over what the local dealer wanted.I was looking for the one that has all in the black enamel and without the infared burner but got this stainless steel one that was on sale and in stock for the same money.The IR burner does a great job searing steaks, glad that I have it now and have not had any trouble with the ceramic IR, although I always heat the grill up with the burners on the other side before I turn the IR burner on. I sear the steaks about 90 seconds on each side and move to the other side of the grill for about 3 minutes per side and have perfectly cooked juicy steaks, medium and pink in the middle.
I also looked at the Weber gas grills before buying this one, the price points they had and from what I could tell, the cheapest was made with Chinese parts (Spirit), the middle pricepoint a combination (Genesis), and the highest price point was all USA Made (Summit) but too expensive for my budget.If you shop around you can get this Canadian made product for just a little more than the Genesis.2 years later. I'm still very happy with this grill.Athough now I have to give Weber a plug, we usually use the gas grill only on weeknights and use the Weber Gold 22" charcoal kettle on the weekends.
