(More customer reviews)When it came time to replace the wooden lower shelf and side tables the Durawood versions made for good replacements.They look good and have the advantage of being food-safe and easier to clean. Once I added the matchinghandle it looked like I had a new BBQ. Weber could only improve upon these by manufacturing them out of post-consumer recycled materials.

(More customer reviews)I have long been skeptical of "deep frying" at home.The smell, the mess, the smell...Anyway, I recently decided to throw a fish fry and decided it was time to invest in a fryer.The biggest issue for me in purchasing a fryer was the sturdiness of the burner stand.Besides having the ability to heat 12 quarts of oil, I also wanted a burner stand that would hold the weight of 20 quarts of beer for my homebrewing.I decided on the Bayou Classic.

This Bayou Classic kit came with everything and setup was simple.The burner stand exceeded my expectations for sturdiness and the height was such that when using the 10 quart stock pot, you could place the burner stand on a safe sturdy work surface to elevate it off the ground.I plan on also using this burner with my wok.The burner was able to bring the oil to temperature in approximately 15 minutes.The Fish and Chips turned out great.

Of course when using 350 degree boiling oil, you do not want your weekend fry festival to end with either a trip to your local burn unit or a reason to see if Allstate really has you in good hands.Common sense must prevail and last time I checked, Amazon does not sell that yet.Set your fry area up away from kids, pets and anything that you want to see another day.If you follow that simple advice, all should turn out okay.

Clean up can be best described as "sticky", but in order to get the life out of your aluminum parts, don't skimp.Now that I have tackled fish and chips, I will have to move on to the other "must have" fried foods these days: turkeys, chickens, and Twinkies.I can't wait.

I'm willing to give stainless steel a try at this price.they are pretty thin metal though and imagine they will have a finite life as well.In just a couple weeks they are blackened and not shiny anymore.If they hold up for a couple of years that would be great.There is a thicker version, but I am not sure it is worth the extra bucks.I can see the importance of these as they protect the burner holes from getting mucked up.Before I put these in I wire brushed the burner tube to make sure all of the openings were clear.

Weber Q 120 Gas Grill Review

The Weber Q has several nice features: The trays fold up into the grill and have built-in utensil storage. The grate is designed so that grease will drip around, but never on, the burner underneath.

I've hosted two cookouts and I've received several compliments on my Weber Q. The food has always been tasty and you definitely get some good grill marks.

Clean-up is pretty straightforward. Out in the field, I usually give the cooking grate a good scrubbing with a brass brush to get the chunks off. Then after it has cooled, I remove the grate and wipe the inside surface with paper towels. All the crud gets brushed into the drip pan.

Some tips:
- If you use a regular 20 lb. liquid propane (LP) cylinder at home for other grills, then I recommend purchasing the tank adapter hose for the Weber Q. Propane tanks are much cheaper than propane bottles.
- This grill does not use the regular green propane bottles that you commonly associate with portable grills. Instead, it uses the slender blue propane bottles commonly used with torches.
- Follow the cleaning instructions: Don't use harsh cleaners such as oven cleaners. Don't use harsh scouring pads. And don't go overboard with the scraper. (I chipped a little of the coating off an edge of the grate while scraping.) For a thorough cleaning at home, use dishwashing detergent and a brush with plastic bristles and you'll be fine.

When I removed the Flame King meter, I found that the gasket that seals the meter to the tank valve had crumbled into pieces. The device is only a couple of months old so clearly the gasket was defective. I'm in the process of finding a replacement gasket.

(More customer reviews)Well, it's really to soon to know how this will work out.I can say that the magnet seems to hold the panel firmly against the tank.I've had it in place for about a month, and that's the problem.I have an ultra efficient Weber Q320 grill, and a fresh tank, so it will be some time before the tank is low enough to register on the gauge.That would be my only issue with this unit.I wish it was a little longer, so I would know the status of the tank a little sooner.Although with this grill, I think I'll have plenty of warning.One thing I do like about this gauge, is that you do not need to pour hot water on it to get a reading like several others I've read about. All you need to do is have the tank valve in the open position.

(More customer reviews)Anyone who has tried to wok a family meal might have encountered a few traditional issues on their regular kitchen stove:
- the stove does not get the wok hot enough, fast enough and wokking turns into boiling
- the wok is not large enough to properly stir fry the quantities
- there is no room in the wok to keep food to the side while wokking other items in the center

We purchased this item, not for camping trips, but to be able to FINALLY wok like a Chinese Chef.
The wok gets INCREDIBLY hot and you can therefore not use the wok inside the house safely but it can certainly be used in the garage or on the veranda.

The wok itself is restaurant size: HUGE. Do yourself a favor and find an extra 16 or 14" carbon steel wok (the wok shop has great ones). Since the wok is so large it is very hard to properly season but we did on this actual set.
The wok is of high quality and is guanranteed to get better over time. Now that ours is seasoned nothing sticks!!!! It's as if it is teflon without the harmful teflon non-stick coat ... go figure.

The set is very very stable, i.e. the base won't wobble or hold a grown man if need be. A little bit of assembly is required for the base so make sure you test it for leaks and sturdy connections.
Wifey did the assembly and she broke 0 nails and assembled in 15 minutes.

This item is a cheap alternative to a pro wok-stove like the restaurants use. We love cooking in it and have found our meals to be healthier and faster.

This also comes with 2 heavy uality wok utensils.

(More customer reviews)I searched around and found Amazon to have the lowest price with free delivery which is quite costly on other sites. Received the grill when Amazon said I would, in good condition. I found the assembly of this grill to be the easiest I have ever put together, as most grills have so many nuts, bolts etc, this had one package. I was done in about 1 hour. All the parts fit together without having to force anything.
We have used this grill almost every day since getting it and we are amazed at the difference in the way this grill cooks as compared to our previous grill, which was a Char-Broil Stainless Steel Commercial from Lowes. There is no comparison, the Weber is soooooo much better. A minor point but a good one, the igniter actually works, the first time every time. I would highly recommend this grill. It's pricey, but so far (about a month) it has been worth every penny.

The metal ring at the bottom that came with my fryer must be for the other model. The holes to screw it in would not align.Since I needed this item for a party, I used it anyway and just put the ring inside for support of the legs.If I had bought this locally, I would have returned it for those reasons.

(More customer reviews)We did not want to store our propane tank inside our van while at the football game (we use a 20-lb tank in what our friends have called an extravagent tailgating setup).We also were concerned with leaving the tank out, with a few miscreants wandering the tailgate lots.

Solution: chain the tank to the van wheel, and attach the Davom ProLock to prevent access to the tank valve.

Works great, is easy to use, and we don't have the propane tank heating up inside a van with the sun beating down.

I highly recommend this product as a security add-on to any tank stored in an unsecured location or where children may be.

(More customer reviews)I always loved the charcoal grill despite the hassle of getting the charcoal started because of the flavor it gives to the food. I once saw an expensive charcoal grill in a friends place which comes with a propane attachment to get the charcoal started but I didn't want to spend that much because we can grill hardly a dozen weekends in a year. This is only a $15-$20 more expensive than the other chimneys of it's size and the recurring cost on the propane cylinders is under $3, it lasts for a whole season for us. But the ease of use is amazing. All you need is good charcoal briquettes and you can use the small red switch to light up. Usually the fire starting part takes 20-25mins but with this it takes only 10mins(which is the time it takes for the charcoal to be ready for the grill) that too without any smoke in the face or firewood or the easy light briquettes which is said to be unhealthy.

They also have an extra attachment you can use to convert it to a stove when you go camping. It works perfectly and makes the grilling experience purely enjoyable. Now we grill even more often than before including weekdays.

First about the price:I got this at Home Depot for $16.95 because I needed to grill in a hurry.If you do not have an OPD tank for your Weber grill and can see yourself in the future refilling, and you would receive it in time before you run out, then I would recommend getting it on Amazon for the lesser price but can afford shipping time.

If you have an older Weber grill and wanted the tank to be refilled, then you probably understand the frustration that I had to go through to get more propane.Federal Law has mandated that all tanks now be "OPD" certified.Now, on these OPD tanks, which can be detected by the "star" shape of the handle, has a different opening where the hose on your grill needs to be connected as compared to the older model.So when I went to have it refilled, they told me that they could no longer refill my old model.So I bought a Blue Rhino.Then, I could not connect it to my Weber grill because of the different opening.(The propane hose would not adapt to the tank.)So I now had three options.One was buy a new grill, which would be quite expensive.Second, which Weber recommended, probably because it would cost me more money, would be buying a new hose.(They said it was around $40.And I have also heard that it has a problem with squirrels eating it.) And third was this adapter that I found.Thus, this adapter was the answer for the price.Connect the thread side of the adapter and your hose to the other side of the adapter (This is the "spring side" or "quick connect" side where to release the hose from the adapter, you must just pull back on the end part of the adapter.)

I also have some advice on using the product to which I hope you may find useful.(The installation instructions were quite weak with the product.) When installing, there is a black plastic piece which is used to screw in the adapter to the part.Be careful when using your crescent wrench not to break off the part.If you break the plastic piece, you probably will be unable to take off the adapter from the tank in the future.Therefore, I would also recommend placing the piece in a safe place so when you need to refill, it will be handy to take off the adapter.However, if you lose the piece, or break it, there is one more way to have it refilled.There is an adapter which was placed on the old tanks for refilling.And since this product basically converts your new tank into the old one, then you can place this refilling adapter on the product.I know it can be confusing in words, but basically what I am saying is that you will have adapter on adapter when refilling the tank.Your refill store will most likely have this second adapter for you when you go in to refill.(I get mine a Pool-Mart and they usually have this handy.)But just to be on the safe side, I would keep that plastic piece.But back to installation:When you finished screwing it in, just connect your hose to the other side by pulling back on the only part of the adapter that moves, and once you push the hose end into the adapter, push back up the only part of the adapter that moves to lock the hose in place.And to remove the hose, simply pull back on the sliding adapter piece - the only part that moves.But most likely you didn't need that as you have refilled your old grill sometime in the last several years.But just in case you may have needed it.

And on performance, there are no leaks, as shown with the soap and water test.Just pure gas grilling is all I have now until another law is passed.But until then, I recommend two things:First is buying this adapter, and second is using common sense to install it, not the instructions.Happy grilling, and thanks for reading!

(More customer reviews)I bought the Brinkmann electric smoker at Lowe's for just over fifty dollars, and have been experimenting with lots of different kinds of meats.I wanted to do smoked ribs, but I knew the two racks would not hold very much, so I bought two sets of rib racks from CSP Outdoors for about ten dollars each.They worked very well.One big package of pork ribs from Sam's Club, about 13 pounds, was about the most they can hold, and still allow air space between the sections.Best ribs I have had in a long time!I think I can use this for other kinds of meat, too, to hold a lot more in the smoker than I can otherwise.Beware of the Weber rib racks, they are too big to fit in the Brinkmann smoker, which is smaller than the Weber smoker.It really does help to spray everything with cooking spray oil before you start, otherwise it's a big job to get everything clean afterwards.

My only disappointment is that I was hoping that the red would be fire-engine red.I would describe it more as redwood colored.

(More customer reviews)After extensive research and despite less-than-exptected Consumer Reports ratings, I chose to purchase the 2007 Weber Summit S-450 grill.I own a 5-year-old Charbroil that is bowing out and losing heat/smoke when I cook so I wanted a multi-fuctional grill to replace it that would last longer.The Summit S-450 includes a beautiful smoker box with a dedicated burner and a Rotisserie Kit.More importantly, it is a Weber, which means great warranty and customer service and built to last.

When I opened the item with my friends we all salivated at the heavy-duty construction of this grill.The impressive stainless steel was high-grade and the grill was very heavy.No wobbling.It was very easy to set up and took about one hour.Let me say that although I expected this grill to be better than my old, I never thought it would be so impressive in all aspects.Weber thinks about everything when they make a grill.From the heavy gauge stainless steel grates to the high-end burners this grill really catches your eye.Having researched the grills at all the local hardware and big box stores, I can honestly say this grill beat them all with just looks and materials alone.That was even before I attached the propane and lit the thing!

When I did test the burners I was extremely impressed with the ignition system.I've never seen anything like it and all burners, including rotisserie and side lit on the first try.The grill got up to heat very quickly and the eveness of the heat was evident buy looks and using a hand test over the grates.While I only cooked a hamburger for my first meal, I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful grill marks the grates left.

I do a lot of slow-cooking and smoking and the thermometer, smoker box, and seal of the grill will certainly improve my grilling of carolina pulled pork and briskett.Further, the knobs/temperature controls seem to offer infinite heating options.I cannot wait to experiment and learn with this grill as I add items to my menu.

While I just got this grill yesterday, I am more than hopeful of the quality and craftmanship and truly believe it will last triple the amount of my Charbroil.I'll have to add to this review as I continue to use this wonderful grill.

Addendum:

I have now had the grill for six plus weeks and have grilled everything from vegetables to pulled pork.The smoker and burners are unsurpassed by any gas grill I've used or come accross.It cooks evenly at all points with virtually no flare-ups or hot/cool spots.Not one complaint by this user after at least 35 uses.

15 months later:

What can I really add?This grill still works like day one with a little maintenance.Yes, the ignition system still works like the first test.My grill would fall into the heavy use category (5 days minimum in summer and 3-4 days in Ohio winter) and all parts are still solid and nowhere near need for replacement like my old grill would have been (sorry Charbroil).

Weber Spirit E-210 NG Gas Grill - Black Review

(More customer reviews)If you can make it past the whole more expensive Weber -vs- cheaper brand choice, you may be shopping for a Weber grill.The added cost of a Weber is more than made up in it's excellent service over a longer period.
This is the 2008 model Spirit E210 with a natural gas connection.I had the choice between this 2008 or a 2009 Spirit E-210.I mainly chose the 2008 because the removable plastic work surface and it being $100 less.I chose this over the Weber Spirit E310 and the Genesis E310.It makes a great addition to my good old Weber charcoal grill.
The natural gas connection if you have it (or can get one added to your house) is great.Typically the smaller grills don't take as much advantage of this as the larger grills.In my area it is hard to find natural gas versions stocked at the store.Either way I can't go back to LP tanks anymore.
The grates and flavor bars will be the cheapest ones Weber offers (enameled steel) but will work well for starting off.These can easily be upgraded with the SS grates and flavor bars next season :).
The work surface area is smaller but very accommodating for most users' needs.It only has two burners (versus three on the E-310) but I doubt most users would notice any disadvantage anyways.
Do yourself a favor and get the grill cover at the same time.
FYI, The 2009 model ditched the SS front doors which is marked up easily but sadly moved it to the work surface instead.Plus they lost the removable work surface which I think was a bonus.They also went with four smaller casters which are a pain if this grill will sit on grass or other soft surfaces.The 2009 electric ignition is nice but requires a battery to work.Since the old button one worked just fine I don't see the need for this change.

(More customer reviews)I bought both the brush and the replacement bristles at the same time, since I had purchased another BBQ piece from these people and thought it was good quality (we gave it as a gift...but it looked high quality).This brush is a joke.I used it once...I mean, literally, I brushed it across my Weber Genesis and the bristles started coming out.I would say about 25% of the bristles came out after continuing for another 5 seconds.The grill was very hot...so maybe that softened the plastic that holds the bristles, or maybe it loosened the glue that they used on the bristles.I'm not really sure what it was, but I returned this lousy piece of junk and I won't ever purchase anything from this company again.Seeing their products in stores now, I can see why they have done well.Good packaging, and modern design and materials give it a high quality impression.I returned everything, the brushes, the replacement brushes, and even two other products from them.

So now, I am left without any brush.Basically, I can buy the cheapy ones that get nasty after a while and I have to throw away, or I can continue to use my tongs or a spatula edge to scrape of the debris.Maybe that is the right way to address grill debris anyway...a brush will always wear out.

As other reviewers write, these are heavy duty.I particularly like the way it attaches.The collar is about 1.5" with the screw set away from the forks.The set screw remains clear and accessible when doing a whole chicken.The finish makes cleaning easy.

CON:
The distance between tines is too small - 2.25".I do not like to puncture the breast when doing whole chicken, lets the juices out and the forks conduct heat.Not too significant using the infrared burner but the breast is a bit overdone and dry by the time the dark meat is right.

My original Thermador forks have a wide spacing of 3.25".I use one of them for the breast end and one of these, with the nice set screw, for the other.Truss the critter leg and wing end.

BTW:Season the day before.Cover with a processing cap and refrigerate.The seasoning permeates the bird.

Coleman Two-Burner Propane Stove Review

(More customer reviews)I have owned and loved a 5430C Coleman 2 burner propane stove for 6 years and recently ordered, directly from Coleman, another 5430, now produced in the F model, so that I could have a total of 4 burners on matching stoves. The first hint I had that the F model was deserving of the "F" designation was when I reached in the box and slightly cut my finger on the base which had not been properly fastened and tucked inside the lip of the top during manufacture. My first thought was that it had been damaged in shipping but there were no marks on the box and no dents in the thin sheet metal. Unlike the older model C which had rolled steel edges, sturdy hinges, and a positive locking latch, the model F has rough edges with abrasive burrs that remained exposed even after I disassembled it and put it back together with the base tucked into the top as it was designed. The lid has a piece of plastic that serves as a latch by snapping into a cutout on the top but it did not even make contact with the lip of the cutout. Using my fingers I warped the lid enough to get it to fit but when carrying the stove by the roughly cut hole that serves as a handle the lid pops open. I will say the burners work well but the construction is cheap, poorly assembled, and is a first aid event waiting to happen. The sad part is the printing on the box which says "MADE IN USA". (More customer reviews)The grill is a great idea.Unfortunately, the design of the grill side is very poor.There is a burner across the back and three burners projecting from this back burner (essentialy an M shape).This means that the back of the burner is always much hotter than the front of the burner. Furthermore, with only three burners projecting from the rear there are "cool" spots between the burners. In fact, from a hot spot perspective, this is the worst grill I have owned.

A $1000 Kenmore grill did a much better job.

I contacted the local Napoleon dealer and paid to have one of their repairman come out to look at the grill.He suggested buying a Lynx if I wanted to eliminate hot spots - I am not kidding.

(More customer reviews)I bought this grill 2 years ago to replace a $300.00 CharBroil gas grill that burned out in 2 years time.The Napolean dealers very greatly in price so shop around and wait for a holiday or end of season sale.I drove 70 miles to get mine but saved $400 over what the local dealer wanted.I was looking for the one that has all in the black enamel and without the infared burner but got this stainless steel one that was on sale and in stock for the same money.The IR burner does a great job searing steaks, glad that I have it now and have not had any trouble with the ceramic IR, although I always heat the grill up with the burners on the other side before I turn the IR burner on. I sear the steaks about 90 seconds on each side and move to the other side of the grill for about 3 minutes per side and have perfectly cooked juicy steaks, medium and pink in the middle.

I also looked at the Weber gas grills before buying this one, the price points they had and from what I could tell, the cheapest was made with Chinese parts (Spirit), the middle pricepoint a combination (Genesis), and the highest price point was all USA Made (Summit) but too expensive for my budget.If you shop around you can get this Canadian made product for just a little more than the Genesis.2 years later. I'm still very happy with this grill.Athough now I have to give Weber a plug, we usually use the gas grill only on weeknights and use the Weber Gold 22" charcoal kettle on the weekends.

(More customer reviews)I have owned this grill for just over a year, and use it at least once a week, more in the summer, and I even use it the winter (I live in Avon, OH, so I have grilled in temps as low as the mid-teens).A few good points:It lights all the time every time on one or two clicks of the auto-ignitor.This is really great and saves a lot of hassle dealing with matches.Natural gas is wonderful, as no more propane tanks to deal with.The finish is top notch (but for this price I wish the back was also stainless steel).The smoker box is really a nice feature (I usually use hickory soaked in water and get a good 15 minutes of hickory smoke from a filled smoker box).The rotisserie works well when using the rear infrared burner (I have used it for large beef roasts and chickens).One of the best features are the thick stainless steel grates - no rust and they clean up perfectly every time and provide great consistent grill marks!The grease trap works flawlessly, and I feel very healthy when I empty out all the grease that collects in the trap!Also, since the unit is completely sealed, there is not greasy grill mess or particles that collect on the patio around the grill - it is very neat and tidy to cook on.

A few nits:The side burner runs too hot, in general.It is a poor quality burner and will burn and boil sauces too quickly, even on the lowest setting.It works, just not as good as one would expect at this price point. The main burners, in my opinion, could be a bit hotter, but only for the searing function when cooking steaks.It gets plenty hot, trust me, but it does not quite produce the level of searing on steaks as I would like, but it is very close.If searing is really important it might be best to get the model with the infrared searing burner.Also, the NG hose could be a few feet longer, at least for my application.

My cooking experience is very positive with this grill.I always had cheap grills and was always frustrated with the lack of temperature control.With this grill I get very precise temperature control all the time.I must say that in general I have never burned anything and things like chicken breast come out nice and juicy.Cooking results are very consistent, and I tend to cook very precisely based on time and temperature.For consistency I always let foods sit out for a few minutes so they are not too cold directly from the refrigerator - this is very important.I find I get best results by lighting all the burners and keep them all on low, as this sets a good baseline temperature, and then adjusting individual burners as needed.For example, a 1" thick steak is cooked to my liking by searing/cooking on high for 5 minutes on each side, then turning down to low and cooking for 3 more minutes on each side.I can pretty much predict the outcome by using trial and error to figure out what works for my desired cooking results.I also have cooked delicate pork tenderloin roasts with the indirect heat method (lower burners either side with cool burner in the middle) and they come out great).I have cooked about 16 burgers at once for large crowds, and the temperature control is a real party-saver in situations like this that require lots of monitoring.I have not had a bad result (again, start out slow with modest amounts of food to calibrate how this grill works in terms of temperature, heating, searing, etc.).I thought I would use the rotisserie and the side burner more, so in hindsight I could probably have saved some jingle by forgoing these features.Overall, this grill rocks and it blows away any grill I have ever owned (and I have had my share of them over the years).

(More customer reviews)This is my fourth gas grill which replaces a very expensive stainless "Turbo" unit I bought from Barbecues Galore about eight years ago.That Turbo started out fine, but steadily deteriorated to the point where I didn't even want to fire it up anymore.The quality of materials and workmanship on the Weber Summit S-650 is top shelf.Every detail is well thought-out and executed, including the burner system, high-end side burner, LP tank weight guage, heavy guage stainless grills, jet ignition system, separate smoker box and burner, drip tray system, massive lid, and LED grill-out lights that really work.I've only owned the Summit for a short time, but everything I've grilled so far has turned out perfectly.The six burners and large cooking area make it possible to cook for a large party, but also provide more options for indirect cooking.Want more heat without increased gas usage?Turn on the burners closer to the food.It's brilliant.Perhaps the best features are the flavorizer bars and grease drip system.They virtually guarantee no flare-ups on fatty foods like burgers and chicken quarters, which was a constant source of frustration with my previous grill.The grease hits the flavorizer bars and disappears into a poof of smoke.What misses the flavorizer bars hits the full width slanted grease tray that terminates into an aluminum catch pan.Clean and easy to manage with zero flare-ups and no charred food.

I really can't say enough good things about this grill and I can't think of a single negative to write about.While the Summit S-650 may seem expensive at first glance, it compares very favorably to grills costing 4x as much.With the Summit, you don't get what you pay for...you get much more.Is it possible to love a grill?:-)

It is made a very heavy material and constructed well.You are supposed to be able to put it on when the grill is still hot but I have not had the nerve to try it yet.

(More customer reviews)Do not be fooled by stainless steel frame. If you are buying a stove for outdoor use, this product isnt it for you. The burner is a poor designed cast iron with some silver colored paint. It has already rusted and will not last. So what the stainless steel frame for if its parts rust?

Plus, the burner is only secured by one single screw. It rotates and tilts. If I would design this product, I would use brass. The burner should be secured on all three legs on a stainless steel plates which itself has to have at least three screws on the frame. The frame will need another Y shaped under bar to firm up the burner mounting.

Dont think Bayou Classic have any good engineer. They should be removed from Amazon's vendor list if they do not improve.

I am surprised Amazon markets such a poor product.

Trouble was, it was about a 250 yard hump each way carrying the Q outstretched in front me to the Bocce Ball courts and back to the parking lot. After awkwardly carrying the Q back and forth a few times and making extra trips for the food- buying the scrawny looking cart seemed to make sense. The travel distance potential for my Q is only limited by my ability to walk (or climb). It does what it was designed to do and a little more when stacked with ice chests and dry goods. When not used as a dolly it simply converts to a patio grill table for home use. When not in use it folds flat for easy storage. All in all money well spent.In addition, the price from Amazon was 10 bucks cheaper than my local retailer. With super saver shipping in 3 days I wondered why I waited so long to buy. Save a back = Buy a cart!

(More customer reviews)I received this grill as a Christmas present and was more than pleasantly surprised.I've always been a fan of the Weber.I recyled my original 18.5" Weber after 20 years.Assembly took aboutan hour. The instructions have no words, just follow the pictures.The package comes with a small plastic thumb wrench to install the nuts for the handle and fasten the kettle to the frame.All you need to supply is a phillips #2 screwdriver and a rubber mallet.

1.) The price point places this grill between the Gold 22.5 Series and the Performer series.
2.) No more flimsy tripod legs that have a tendency to come out of the kettle base when you move the grill. There are two nuts that fasten the kettle to the side supports on the main frame.
3.) The frame is made of bent steel tubing.The lower half of the frame is connected to the upper half via two black metal clamping connectors secured with two screws each.When assembling the lower and upper halves of the frame, there is a slight offset in the connector assembly clearly shown by a hand lifting the partial assembly in the instructions.If you have to put effort into screwing the parts together...you are assembling it incorrectly.I can see where this will cause some people problems when they claim that their parts arrived to them incorrectly tapped or stripped.My advice:take parts A and B of the clamping metal connector and just start the screws so you can gage the amount of effort it takes to close the clamps.There are also two adjustable feet opposite the wheels that will allow you to level the frame to take out any wobble on uneven surfaces.
4.) Side Tables: Hard thermoset weather resistant, heat resistant plastic.There are two metal standoff clips that are to be installed with self tapping screws on each table.These clips will prevent a hot lid from touching the tables.Pay attention to the instructions and the orientation of the pictures.
5.)The lid has a built in thermometer 150 - 600 deg F.The handle for the lid is attached at the lip of the lid with two nuts.Lift up on the handle and the lid rolls back on two plastic rollers factory attached to the bottom kettle.The lid will eventually rotate back to rest on the two metal standoff clips mentioned above.You never have to completely remove the lid, it just rotates/rolls back and leaves plenty of room to access the entire grill.
6.) Wheels: Hard weather resistant, heat resistant plastic.You'll need the rubber mallet to install the retaining nuts for the wheels...just line them up and give it a good whack.
7.) The bottom rack is a nice feature, it stays solidly supported within the frame.
8.) Ash catching assembly.You have to snap the assembly collar to get the tabs to hook into the leg stubs in the kettle.Don't bend it too much, just deform it gently and work it in.
9.) The ash sweeping vane assembly was factory installed.
10.)Unit comes with two char-baskets, charcoal grill support, and hinged cooking grate.

I don't know why this product is not on Weber(-Stephen) website yet as of 1/2/10. This certainly is a noticeable upgrade from the Weber Gold series and it is definitely a winner in their product line.Solid construction.Solid company.I've always been a fan, but now I have another reason to love my Weber.

(More customer reviews)This grill is simply amazing. It is made entirely out of stainless steel, and arrives fully assembled. It is quite heavy, and it is a two person job getting it off the wooden pallet it is shipped on. To hook it up to natural gas, the manufacturer recommends SOL-12HOSE12, however, as I found out, it does not come with all the fittings needed. The grill has a 1/2" FPT (Female Pipe Thread), and hose has a 1/2" flare connection. You will need a 1/2" MPT (Male Pipe Thread) to 1/2" Male Flare adapter. You'll find these at your hardware store in the same section where they keep fittings to hook up your gas appliances. Make sure you put pipe dope on the pipe thread, but not on the flare thread. The other end of the hose has a quick connect fitting, with a 1/2" FPT. In my case, the gas outlet on the outside of my house had a 1/2" FPT as well, so I had to get a 1/2" MPT to MPT fitting, which I found in the same area in my hardware store as the other fitting. Make sure you liberally apply pipe dope to the male fittings and leak check with 1 part dish liquid, 1 part water, brush it onto all the fittings, including the ones that were factory installed.

The grill heats up very quickly. The infrared is glowing red within minutes. To grill steaks, I put them on the infrared burner, 2 minutes on each side (turning them 90 degrees after 1 minute to give them a cross pattern), and then I move them to the convection side to finish cooking them. Make sure you leave the lid open, unless you turn down the burners.

I bought this grill to replace a 26,000 BTU Weber propane grill, and the difference is like night and day. With the amount of energy this grill puts out, I'm happy I went with the natural gas version. I have a feeling it would go through propane tanks like there is no tomorrow. Another nice feature is that it can be converted into a built-in grill should I ever decide to build a bbq island. The grill is the same as the non-cart version and it is just bolted to the cart. The cart itself is quite basic. It has a little raised shelf on the bottom inside, and it has a shelf on the inside of each door, but there are no hooks to hang things like brushes or tongs on.

(More customer reviews)So far, I've done briskets, pork shoulders, chickens, turkeys and salmon, and everything has turned out grat. It's easy to use, easy to feed and keeps food moist; the water pan works as a buffer.

The review would be 5 stars except that the temperature gague says "warm" "ideal" and "hot," but neither the manual nor the company knows exactly what temperature range those words correspond to.I actually contacted them and asked, and the answers I got were imprecise.

I've found, for example, that "ideal" is great for doing a chicken in 2-3 hours, but you want it at the high end of "warm" cooler if doing brisket for 10-12.Otherwise, though, no complaints.
